A huge thank you to those parents and children who gave up their Saturday to join us tidying up our outside area today. We weeded, pruned, raked, swept and even managed to plant a few seeds. The amount of work achieved with a few helpers was truly amazing and I lost count of how many bags we filled.
Although it was hard work, it was a really nice way to spend time with families and an opportunity to get to know each other a little better, especially our new children joining us in September. It would be nice to make this a regular event, maybe once a term, as with regular maintenance the garden would not need such a major overhaul. As you are aware, all schools are facing financial challenges with cuts to resources and funding. The foundation garden is an extension of our classroom. With your help we can continue to make this a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn. Please look out for future dates.
