We have been talking about how we can take care of wildlife at this time of year; building safe homes for hibernating animals and putting food out for birds.

One of the older children led a small group in making a hedgehog house; after following instructions to build it, they painted it and placed it in a shelter area of forest school.

Some of the children made bird feeders by upcycling a juice carton, whereas others scraped out an orange, filled it with bird seed and hung them on trees.

The children have been gaining confidence over the weeks with tools; sawing, hammering and using a simple pistol grip drill.
