Meet Our Mighty Falcons...

Hello and welcome to the Y5/6 Falcons family! We are very proud of the warm atmosphere we have in class and our new recruits fit right in - we are very pleased to be in the company of such a positive, friendly, upbeat group of children and predict a wonderful year ahead!

All the adults in Falcons work very hard to enable the children to be the very best they can possibly be - both academically and in terms of their wellbeing.  Mrs Bostock's expertise and knowledge is indispensable to us all, and we are joined by Mrs Edmunds this year - a welcome addition with her wealth of skills! We also have Mrs Fairhurst, Mrs Rae and Ms Paradiso contributing to give the children a rounded and interesting curriculum each week.

Good communication and mutual support between home and school is at the heart of our practice in Falcons and valued highly. Parents, your children come first, so please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns, no matter how trivial these may seem - we are here to help and keep everyone as happy as we can!

With warmest wishes,

Mrs Cartwright

Visit from Robert Courts MP

Our new MP, Robert Courts, came to school on 6th April to meet our Key Stage 2 children and explain who he is, what he does, and how they too can become an MP or even Prime Minister one day. He answered all their questions and ended with a photo with our school council (who he described as the equivalent of Parliament).

More triumph for our netball team!

Our amazing netball team came third out of eight teams at the county final in Abingdon. Well done to everyone, and thank you to Mrs Rae and her helpers for organising it.

Save the Children Fund

Congratulations to the children who raised money for the victims of famine in East Africa last Friday. Martha Higgins, Kate Mowbray, Pippa Carrington, Amy Goodgame and Shivam Chawlia raised an impressive £181.27 by selling their delicious handiwork. This week we had an assembly by Sue from Save the Children Fund explaining what the money will be used for.

Year 6 IMPS Trip

On Monday 27th March, Year 6 spent the morning at Witney hospital. They learned all about giving someone CPR, putting someone into the recovery position and what different equipment in minor injuries might be used for. The children were very enthusiastic and really enjoyed themselves, and the staff commended them on how calm and well-behaved they were. Well done, Year 6!

Red Nose Disco

Our school captains wanted to organise a disco to support Comic Relief. It was organised almost entirely by these four children and they did a great job with their music choices and DJing. Well done!
