Meet Our Mighty Falcons...

Hello and welcome to the Y5/6 Falcons family! We are very proud of the warm atmosphere we have in class and our new recruits fit right in - we are very pleased to be in the company of such a positive, friendly, upbeat group of children and predict a wonderful year ahead!

All the adults in Falcons work very hard to enable the children to be the very best they can possibly be - both academically and in terms of their wellbeing.  Mrs Bostock's expertise and knowledge is indispensable to us all, and we are joined by Mrs Edmunds this year - a welcome addition with her wealth of skills! We also have Mrs Fairhurst, Mrs Rae, Mrs Hunter and Ms Paradiso contributing to give the children a rounded and interesting curriculum each week.

Good communication and mutual support between home and school is at the heart of our practice in Falcons and valued highly. Parents, your children come first, so please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns, no matter how trivial these may seem - we are here to help and keep everyone as happy as we can!

With warmest wishes,

Miss Kerr

Happy campers!

The kids were fab and didn’t get up til 7 this morning! All children have had a sleep and are now dressed and breakfasted ready for the Snowdon ascent via the Llanberis Path.

Meal and rest before the ascent

The children had a lovely hearty meal tonight and have enjoyed putting their tents together for sleep.  After a post meal walk, we talked about the plan for tomorrow and - as of now - all is quiet!!

They've arrived!

Here are pictures of the team arriving in Llanberis at the camp site. What a glorious location! Have a wonderful evening, everyone.

Snowdon: lunch stop

Lunch time on Tuesday: all are happy, eating lunch by a lake in Shropshire.

Using the past to understand the present…

On Monday we had a great afternoon exploring our village! We used pictures from the past to find specific buildings, noting down the changes we saw and working out the reasons why. We're beginning to understand human geography and little more, as well as the impact we have on our environment.

We were all fascinated by the images from the past, and it was awe inspiring to think these buildings still exist today, even if some of their uses have changed. Some children even got Mrs Fairhurst involved; thanks to the picture of the school, we now know why there was a big, heavy bell in her cupboard!
