Welcome to Voyager Class!

It has been wonderful to welcome our new Year 5 pupils alongside Sir Elton and Big Eye Bob (pictured above.) We are really looking forward to an exciting year together...

Our lovely Voyagers receive many visitors during their school day. In the morning learning for Year 5 takes place alongside some Year 4 children while the Year 6s are taught by Miss Burn in a separate room. In the afternoon Years 5 and 6 learn together. The atmosphere in both rooms are friendly and focussed, we help one another on our learning journey and do our very best to adopt a positive attitude, believing that mistakes help us learn.

Please find the attached class letter and timetable which outline our routines and expectations. We believe strongly in partnership between home and school because children are happier and learn best in this way, so please do get in touch if anything is unclear, or if any issues arise - we will always do our best to help.

With warmest wishes,

Julia Burn, Sophie Kerr, Jane Kearvell, Lyn Bostock and Rachel Deegan

Year 5 and 6 Indoor Athletics

On Tuesday 24th January, Years 5 and 6 took part in an indoor athletics tournament at Burford Secondary School. Throughout the day, the children were positive, well-behaved and cheered each other on. Great team spirit, kiddies!

Topic News..!

We have been having great fun this week trying to tessellate two shapes in order to make a repeating pattern...It was trickier than we first thought, but the results were worth the puzzles- see our classroom wall for work in progress...!

Class 4 2016-2017

Years 5 and 6 Football Tournament

On Thursday 1st December some very enthusiastic and energetic footballers from year 5 and 6 participated in an extremely competitive tournament at Buford Secondary School. The team work and spirit was fantastic and there were some very triumphant moments for us. Although we finished 6th out of 8 schools, two of the higher places were tied and we managed to pull off some exceptional performances against some very competitive sides. Well done to everybody who took part!

Chairman's Cup

On Wednesday 25th May, a group of Year 5 and 6 children took part in the Chairman's Cup. The children worked well as a team and supported each other, which was lovely to see. They were positive and determined throughout the day and performed very well, coming third year out of six teams, narrowly missing a place in the semi-final - well done Year 5 and 6!
