Welcome to Hercules Class!

Welcome to the Hercules Home Page!

We have lots of wonderful Year 2 and 3 children in our class. To support us within the classroom we have the fantastic Miss Glenister, Mrs Deegan and Mrs Williams.

We believe that time within school needs to be happy and safe which in turn will promote successful learning. Work should be a challenge in order to build on previous knowledge. Children need to believe in themselves to be able to tackle any given challenges. Mistakes will be made along the way (by us too!) and this is OK!  We need to learn from our mistakes and develop our knowledge to a greater depth.

We encourage the children in the class to speak out. If there are any concerns or successes, we want to know! And this is the same for parents. Please feel free to talk to us at any appropriate time. Unfortunately time can be limited for parents at the beginning or end of the day, but feel free to make an appointment and we will always make time for you. We are in a partnership to help develop your child’s independence, learning and happiness.

We look forward to what lies ahead these coming terms. We have many exciting things planned and we are looking forward to the Hercules class continuing to grow together.

April

April comes from the Latin word, 'aperture' (to open).  With this in mind, the children planted flowers, created flower tree cookies. observed the new lie in the pond and used nature to make sun catchers.

Hercules have had a great first couple of Forest School sessions; the sun has shone and they have engrossed themselves in the various activities.  The mud kitchen is always popular - as is firelighting!

We have enjoyed sitting together around the fire to have a cooked campfire snack; new potatoes (in season) and cheese one week and good ol' s'mores the next!

Happy Birthday Mr Drake!

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been very busy studying fractions. Today we brought our 'learning to life' by working out how we could equally share Mr Drake's birthday cake! We hope you have a fabulous day Mr D, we can't thank you enough for volunteering your free time to help us during Literacy and Maths. Hercules would not be the same without you now!

Oxenwood- Day Two!

Day two is turning out to be as equally brilliant as day one. We have spent the morning trying our hands at fencing and problem solving. Quick stop for lunch and then we are moving onto our climbing activity this afternoon. It's go, go go!

Good morning from Oxenwood!!

Some of us have been up a while but all is well and we’re about to have breakfast!

More Oxenwood

The children and staff are having the most wonderful time. We can't wait to see what new adventures tomorrow brings...
