Welcome to Hercules Class!

Welcome to the Hercules Home Page!

We have lots of wonderful Year 2 and 3 children in our class. To support us within the classroom we have the fantastic Mrs Williams and Mrs Deegan.

We believe that time within school needs to be happy and safe which in turn will promote successful learning. Work should be a challenge in order to build on previous knowledge. Children need to believe in themselves to be able to tackle any given challenges. Mistakes will be made along the way (by us too!) and this is OK!  We need to learn from our mistakes and develop our knowledge to a greater depth.

We encourage the children in the class to speak out. If there are any concerns or successes, we want to know! And this is the same for parents. Please feel free to talk to us at any appropriate time. Unfortunately time can be limited for parents at the beginning or end of the day, but feel free to make an appointment and we will always make time for you. We are in a partnership to help develop your child’s independence, learning and happiness.

We look forward to what lies ahead these coming terms. We have many exciting things planned and we are looking forward to the Hercules class continuing to grow together.

Royal International Air Tattoo

All of Years 3 to 6 had a great day at the Air Tattoo. We watched aerobatic displays from around the world and explored planes new and old.

Enterprise Project

Hawking class have worked hard to create their own companies. The children could make their own product to sell and their profit would either be donated to a charity of the children's choice or buy something for the school.

I'm really proud of how the children have worked and how well they sold their products after school on Friday.

Science Day!

We had lots of fun at Burford today! We did 4 different activities. We learnt about Ultraviolet lights, reflecting and refractive lights, made kaleidoscopes and pin hole cameras.

It was great fun and hope to go again soon!

Swimming Gala

We had a good turnout for the annual swimming gala - despite it being on an Inset Day!

The children that came performed brilliantly - with some having to swim up a year group, and others being asked to swim even though they'd only come to watch!!  We managed to fill all races and had many children placed in the top 3.

Thanks to all the children that came along - and to all of the parents that came to support.

FLEARN

On 22nd May we had another fab visit from Mike Mullen -3x Pro BMX Halfpipe Champion and Former World Master Champion.  Once again, he came in and started the day with an assembly that reminisced about his life and encouraged the children to keep going and never give up; whatever their passion, continue to work hard and -if you fail -  pick yourself up, dust yourself down and have another go!

Throughout the day, each class got to take part in a workshop with Mike.  He taught some children to ride a bike, boosted the confidence of others and encouraged all of them to be daring and step outside their comfort zone.

At the end of the day, he put together a small team of children to take part in a show for the rest of the school and parents.  To the amazement of the children, he even jumped over 7 teachers and parents!!

If the day did anything, then hopefully it inspired children to dust of their bikes and scooters and get outside.
