What a great week!
What a fantastic start to our new school year! I am so proud of all the children in Hercules class. They have come back to school so confident and adapted to all the daily changes so well!! Can I also thank all of you for adapting to all the changes. I am sure there will be many more to come!
We have had a very busy week with many assessments to see where children are with their learning. The hard work was quite rightly rewarded with extra playtime and biscuits!
We have begun our new Science topic of Forces and Magnets, and looking at the Water Cycle with our Geography work.
I was so pleased to hand out certificates to some children who completed the reading bingo summer challenge. Congratulations to Hailey, Emily, Olivia, Elliot, Summer, Eddie and Dan. Great reading during the summer holidays. We have also been enjoying listening to the different magazines that have been made during the summer months. We have heard all about super heroes, princesses, sharks, holidays and footballers, amongst many other things!
I found picking this weeks SHINE and Star awards very hard. So many children deserved to get this achievement. But I am so pleased to say that Archie deserves the Star of the Week award due to his perseverance. He has worked so hard and tackled many given problems without giving up. Well done Archie. The SHINE award goes to Daniel for constantly helping me. He is my right hand man when I need help with any technical issues. I never worry if the computer isn’t doing what I want it to do, Daniel can sort it. He also helped many children with the iPads. Thank you! Everyone needs a Daniel in their classroom!
Please enjoy looking at some of the photos from the week. Many smiling faces and hard working children!
Have a great weekend!
It was a beautiful afternoon for the children to be outdoors enjoying the September sunshine. We talked about signs of Autumn; conkers, acorns, maple keys, blackberries and leaves changing colour. The children then used this to inspire some creativity. Leaf printing onto cloth bags, drawing with blackberry ink and making acorn people. Some children even went blackberry picking with an adult for a fruity accompaniment to our pancakes. It was a busy afternoon with lots of happy faces!
SPaG/Maths Investigations Year 3 and 4...
Back by popular demand... you guys really seemed to enjoy these! Perhaps you will all be spies, detectives or police officers when you are older... how exciting! Good luck trying to solve the clues. Mrs M x
Ready to Read?
Hi guys, here are some reading comprehensions and question papers for both Year 3 and 4. Why not test your retrieval and inference skills today? Good luck, let me know how you get on! Miss you! Mrs M x
Don't forget to dip in and out and remind yourself of all the mathematical strategies and concepts we learnt before lockdown. I know there will be lots of things that we didn't have chance to cover but please don't worry- just have a little look at the booklets and do what you can. Miss you, Mrs M x
