Welcome to Buccaneers!

In our class we have 20 children in Foundation Stage. Our teacher is Mrs Johnson; our teaching assistants are Miss Hill in the mornings and Mrs Mulcahy in the afternoons. On Monday afternoons we have Forest School with Mrs Rae.

In the Buccaneers we love to learn! We have created a a learning environment that encourages the children to practice new skills, play with friends, explore and develop ideas and most importantly have fun. We have a fabulous garden which we use as much as we can. The children have a mud kitchen which they use to make wonderful creations, leaf soup, mud chilli and my favourite hot chocolate! We also have a great tyre sand pit, water area, bikes and gardening area which the children enjoy planting seeds, bulbs and watching their plants grow.

Children's social, emotional, physical and communication skills are are supported in conjunction with the teaching of  reading, writing and maths. Our curriculum ensures that children's individual needs are met and they are given the best opportunity to develop and grow in a safe and inspiring environment. We support the children in developing the skills they need to build firm foundations that will help them as they progress on their learning journey.

Yummy pancakes!

We couldn’t finish off our week learning all about pancakes without eating some! Even our friends at home joined in.

Story at bedtime

Thank you so much for everyone who was able to join last night. I loved seeing you all and it was so lovely to be together again, if only virtually! Well done for making the most amazing dens, I loved seeing how creative you had all been. Even without a den it was lovely just to spend a some time listening to a story.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term and enjoy a rest from home schooling for a week. Spend some time reading, listening to stories, playing games or watching your favourite film. Whatever you do make sure you find time to relax and recharge those batteries! Thank you all for your support this term, being patient when technology has failed me and most importantly being there to support your children with their learning. They have all coped so well this term, both at home and in school. It has been a very strange term and we look forward to some sort of normality soon.

Enjoy your week and I look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Pancake races

A bit of cold weather doesn’t stop us from having some outside. The children enjoyed some pancake fun with our Buccaneer Pancake races. We have enjoyed a week of pancake fun, with our friends at home joining in too with our pancake collages.
