Welcome to Buccaneers!

In our class we have 20 children in Foundation Stage. Our teacher is Mrs Johnson; Miss Hill is our teaching assistant everyday with Mrs Mulcahy joining us on a Wednesday afternoon. On Monday afternoons we have Forest School with Mrs Rae.

In the Buccaneers we love to learn! We have created a a learning environment that encourages the children to practice new skills, play with friends, explore and develop ideas and most importantly have fun. We have a fabulous garden which we use as much as we can. The children have a mud kitchen which they use to make wonderful creations, leaf soup, mud chilli and my favourite hot chocolate! We also have a great tyre sand pit, water area, bikes and gardening area which the children enjoy planting seeds, bulbs and watching their plants grow.

Children's social, emotional, physical and communication skills are are supported in conjunction with the teaching of  reading, writing and maths. Our curriculum ensures that children's individual needs are met and they are given the best opportunity to develop and grow in a safe and inspiring environment. We support the children in developing the skills they need to build firm foundations that will help them as they progress on their learning journey.

Home Learning Week 5

Thank you so much to all of you at home, you are all working so hard and it is so lovely to see you all each day. You are all doing a great job in such trying circumstances!

As I have mentioned phonics is changing a little bit from next week. You are all now assigned to your phonics group on Teams and this is where I will upload my videos for you to watch each day. If you need any resources for phonics during the week I will also put them in your Teams group. If you have any questions about these changes please do let me know. I'm hoping with more tailored videos from me it will be easier to keep school and home learning more in line with each other.

I have attached the main plans for next week and some other documents you will need, including a Chinese New Year Home Learning sheet you might want to have a go at. I hope you all have a restful weekend.

Bird watching time

This afternoon we spent a little while sitting and watching out for birds in our school garden. We have spent the week making bird feeders to hang on our trees and this afternoon we all went out with our bird sheets to see what how many birds we could spot. We were very lucky and saw a Red Kite flying around. We also saw some pigeons and blackbirds.

Here is the bird sheet if you would like to have a go yourself this weekend: RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch

Do send in any photos if you have a go at this weekend.
