With planes taking off behind our playground to destinations all over the world, it seems natural for us to be a school with an international outlook. We have our link with a school in Uganda, connected with Burford School's link with the secondary school nearby. It was great to see their headteacher, who visited Brize recently, and our children write to theirs. We have also been collecting books to send to a school for orphans in Nakuru, Kenya, which Mrs Fairhurst visited last year.
Whilst learning French and Japanese, of course we also learn about their cultures. We are planning a Japanese culture day, when we will try Japanese food among other things. Children in Year 6 have the chance to visit Boulogne for the day, as well.
International education is an area we intend to develop further over the next few years, so watch this space!
