Welcome to Tutu Class
Welcome to Tutu Class! We are a mix of Year 5 and 6 pupils, who are taught by Miss Musgrave, Mrs Bostock and Mrs Deegan. We do Spelling, Maths and Literacy every morning and our afternoon timetable is currently as follows:
Monday - Computing (coding) or Music (appreciating different music) and Spanish
Tuesday - RE (Islam and sacred places) and PE (athletics)
Wednesday - PE (rounders) and PSHE (health and hygiene)
Thursday - Topic (South America; Rainforests; Mixed Media)
Friday - Science (Materials and their Properties)
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school with them for tag rugby on Tuesdays and gymnastics on Wednesdays.
RAF Falcons Trip
On Friday 5th May, Year 5 and 6 took a trip to the RAF base to watch the Falcons. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, the Falcons were unable to parachute down, although I think watching the C-17 fly over, exploring inside the chinook, meeting and receiving utographs from the Falcons and learning how they pack their parachutes more than made up for it! The beautiful weather and ice-cream probably helped too!
What a fantastic time we had at Easter School this year! The children were enthusiastic, hardworking and positively delightful. We designed our own holiday resorts, carried out some percentage work on how much we would have to pay our 'staff', created leaflets based on our resorts and used our fractions knowledge to share lunch out fairly. Oh and we enjoyed a well-deserved Easter egg hunt!
Well done Year 6s for being such a pleasure and thank you parents for encouraging them to come!
Visit from Robert Courts MP
Our new MP, Robert Courts, came to school on 6th April to meet our Key Stage 2 children and explain who he is, what he does, and how they too can become an MP or even Prime Minister one day. He answered all their questions and ended with a photo with our school council (who he described as the equivalent of Parliament).
More triumph for our netball team!
Our amazing netball team came third out of eight teams at the county final in Abingdon. Well done to everyone, and thank you to Mrs Rae and her helpers for organising it.
Save the Children Fund
Congratulations to the children who raised money for the victims of famine in East Africa last Friday. Martha Higgins, Kate Mowbray, Pippa Carrington, Amy Goodgame and Shivam Chawlia raised an impressive £181.27 by selling their delicious handiwork. This week we had an assembly by Sue from Save the Children Fund explaining what the money will be used for.
